Lilly Singh, who was born in Canada but has her parental roots attached to Punjab, was raised in the Sikh traditional way of life.
In 2010, Lilly started a YouTube channel under the pseudonym "IISuperwomanII", prompted by an S-shaped ring from her childhood. Punjabi culture is frequently portrayed in her videos, which also contain satirical takes on everyday life and people's favorite complaints.
In February this year, this Canadian stand-up comic and YouTube sensation Lilly Singh, aka Superwoman, posted a picture with Hollywood actor Mila Kunis on Instagram. Lilly shot for the film around Valentine’s Day (February 14). She says working on the film was intimidating. “I won’t lie. I was intimidated, because I’m from the digital space. But as soon as I walked in to get my hair and makeup done, Christina was nice. Mila said she had watched a bunch of my videos recently,” says the comic.
Lilly presently has 9,452,766 fans on her channel. So far, she has been featured on the Forbes’ Highest Paid YouTube Stars of 2015, and Time Magazine’s The 30 Most Influential People On The Internet 2016, among others. Lilly has even made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and most recently announced her book, How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life, on the same show.
Apart from doing a cameo in the upcoming Bad Moms, Lilly has also voiced two minicorns- Bubbles and Misty in the recently released Ice Age: Collision Course, and has also released a documentary, A Trip To Unicorn Island, which documents her worldwide tour.
